This deck of cards was inspired by three families of female monsters featured in Greek mythology -- the Gorgons, Graeae, Fates and Hesperides. By exchanging traditional male nobles on playing cards with these female creatures, I designed a deck that tells the story of female power itself and can hopefully empower feminine users to find the same strength when playing.
These four families of women -- groups of three called triads -- fit seamlessly into the four suits in a traditional deck. I selected a symbol that ties each family together to use as the suit’s symbol.
